What the heck is parent coaching and why would I sign up?
You’ve tried everything to get your kid to behave and nothing works. Bribes, threats, removing privileges. Nothing.
You’re repeating yourself a zillion times a day. And then two more. No one’s listening.
You’re tired of yelling and making empty threats that no one takes seriously.
You have no idea what to do next. You’re ready to give up.
You feel blamed, shamed, and judged by other parents, your family, or your child’s teachers.
Your special needs child doesn’t respond to typical parenting strategies and you need help finding what works.
This Covid/online learning thing has you buying wine by the box.
WE TAKE A POSITIVE AND PRACTICAL APPROACH THAT WORKS FOR PARENTS AND KIDS
Our coaching works from a place of connection, communication, and respect, free of blame and judgement. You’ll learn parenting strategies that build strong relationships with your kids and lead to a more peaceful home.
WHY CHOOSE JENNA AS YOUR PRENTING COACH?
Jenna is the mother to two adult children and a foster parent to two boys with special needs. She worked in child welfare providing parenting help to families for over twenty years. She knows crazy. She knows what it feels like to parent bickering siblings, manage tantrums and meltdowns, fights over screen time, and kids that just don’t listen. She also understands that as parents, we are working with our own history of being parented, personal triggers (how does that one kid know exactly how to push your buttons???), partners that aren’t on the same page, and bad advice.
As a social worker and therapist since 1999, Jenna has helped hundreds of families deal with trying situations. Jenna can help parents identify what’s normal and age appropriate for kids, and what might be a sign that there is something else going on. She also works with families with special needs children to develop parenting strategies that work for their children. Jenna is both trauma and spectrum informed (ADHD, ASD, FASD).
You’re in the right place. We can help.
A judgement free place to learn strategies that actually work with children from 2 to 12 years of age. From the comfort of your own home. We know change doesn’t happen overnight, but sometimes you’ll be amazed at how quickly things can turn around with the right help and consistency.
